been going in circles
large wide and never-ending
eager to find
happiness contentment and love
started as soon as I opened
my small kinky brown eyes

from afar then I saw
a possible answer to my quest
the answer talks smiles laughs and breathe
a human being - not of my own gender

him I befriended
thinking my journey would finally end

circles, I thought, became
smaller and smaller
but it did not
everything I thought was simply
out of desperation
