I can't believe it. Hahaha!
I did everything to get that P20 ticket. Sunday morning, I met up with Kim and her sister, Kaye at Araneta, by 11am, tickets were sold out. So, we headed for UST and fortunately, at 3pm, I got a hold of my ticket. Relieved. The next day, again, I met up with Kim, 6:30 am and got a hold of another ticket at 8am. The extra tickets are for our other friends. Anyway, I got a report in Literature at 8am. Whoohoo! My report went fine, panthomime here and there. I sighed when Ma'am Biavati finally said, "Very good!"
Fast forward > The game was scheduled that afternoon. With my friends, we headed for Araneta. Some failed to get tickets and it all boiled down to 7 people: Kuya JP, Kim, Ponchie, Lesli, Hersh, Bea and me.
The game was heart-breaking, pulse-racing and throat-drying. :) It was crushing and enjoying to see JC Intal shoot a 3-pointer. It was thrilling to see him dunk! It was scary to watch him, together with Macky Escalona, make a 5-point edge against the tigers at the end of the 1st half. I was ambivalent, unsure of which team I'm cheering for but in the latter part, I was a true gold Thomasian in yellow. In the 2nd part, I can't breathe freely anymore. Hahaha. I was tensed and nervous. Anxiety crept all over me. Dylan shoots then JC answer back with another 2 points. It was a battle and at first, it seemed eternal. The scores were always tied. The buzzer went off with a tie, so there's over-time. Kimmie and I, and probably the whole Thomasian and Atenean community, were in contact with God. Everyone was saying their own prayers.
Here's my prayer: Lord, all of these shouts, all of the players' hardwork, all of our difficulties to get here, all of the peoples' smiles and cheers are all for your glory. Every single thing is all for you! May your will be done and may your will be the victory of UST! May your will be the victory of UST!!!
Then, we won! TIGERS BEAT THE EAGLES. UST BEAT ATENEO.
The other side of me was crushed. It's hard to see JC on his knees, in tears. Lost in a world he thought he would have conquered. As a fan, my heart felt heavy.
But, I remembered I'm a Thomasian! I began shouting for our players. They were great, they did all their best. I believe they really deserve the title of a Champion!
ANIMO TIGERS BEAT ATENEO, BEAT ATENEO!!!
